One of the best maritime museums on the entire east coast. You will see antique diving equipment and thousands of pictures, charts and artifacts. LBI Foundation of the Arts and Sciences

The Science Committee focuses its efforts on educating the community about the need to preserve and protect the ecology of LBI and Barnegat Bay. In the winter they host interactive lectures tackling today’s most pressing environmental and scientific issues in an easy-to-understand format. The Tuckerton Seaport

a working maritime village, is located along the
Tuckerton Creek. This one-of-a-kind attraction, in the heart of historic Tuckerton NJ, brings the Jersey Shore’s maritime traditions of the past and present to life through people, exhibits and hands-on activities. Discover the Jersey Shore’s unique maritime heritage and the interaction between culture and nature on the Barnegat Bay. There is always a lot going on there.  Check it out. The Jacques Cousteau National Estuarine Research Reserve

(JC NERR) is one of the 27 national estuarine reserves created to promote the responsible use and management of the nation's estuaries through a program combining scientific research, education, and stewardship. Just to let you know about what is going on in other places! Transplanted oysters are thriving in the  the Hackensack River, a promising sign for researchers who say oysters could be used to reduce pollution. WATCH THE VIDEO.

Monitoring Plan

The Monitoring Program Plan is a comprehensive blueprint for monitoring activities in the Barnegat Bay/Little Egg Harbor estuary and watershed that relate to the mission of the Barnegat Bay Estuary Program. Be sure to review Section IV Environmental where you will find: Hard Clams, under Primary Indicators, Land Use – Land Cover Change in. State of the Bay Technical Report

The creation of the 2005 State of the Bay Report was the collaborative work of many partnering organizations and committed individuals. The indicators adopted by the Barnegat Bay National Estuary Program (BBNEP), six of which are presented in this report, were selected by the BBNEP Science and Technical Advisory Committee

Marine Resources Programming for Rutgers Cooperative Research & Extension

Located  in Ocean County, RCRE has two marine agents working throughout Monmouth, Ocean, and Atlantic Counties. Gef and Cara are currently working together on both the Barnegat Bay Shellfish Restoration Program and the Rutgers Cooperative Research & Extension Seafood Safety Website.

The New Jersey Division of Fish & Wildlife offers an extraordinary learning experience at our Sedge Island Natural Resource Education Center, located within NJ's first Marine Conservation Zone, just off Island Beach State Park in Barnegat Bay.

Oyster Gardening

Oyster Gardening In Virginia The Virginia Oyster Gardening Guide was produced by the Virginia Coastal Zone Management Program in partnership with VIMS, Virginia CBF, TOGA, VMRC, Oyster Reef Keepers, NOAA Chesapeake Bay Office and the VORHF

The Oyster Gardening Program is a cooperative effort of the Oyster Alliance, which includes the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, the Maryland Sea Grant Extension Program, the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science and the Oyster Recovery Partnership.

Mobile Bay National Estuary Program

The Mobile Bay Oyster Gardening Program is a cooperative effort, which includes the Mobile Bay National Estuary Program, Auburn University Marine Extension and Research Center, and the Mississippi Alabama Sea Grant Consortium.  Other partners have included the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources Marine Resources Division, Alabama Department of Public Health and Volunteers!

Cornell – Southold Program in Aquaculture Training (SPAT)

To augment the limited staff of the Cornell Marine Program*, volunteers help produce shellfish to seed the bays. SPAT volunteers grow miniscule shellfish in containment, away from predators, until they reach adult size when they are released into local creeks and bays.

The Aquaculture Network Information Center

(AquaNIC) was conceived in 1994 by the former USDA-Extension Service (currently Cooperative State Research, Education and Extension Service) as one of the nation’s first network information centers to serve as a gateway to the world’s electronic aquaculture resources. AquaNIC was created, through grants from USDA-Extension Service, the Illinois-Indiana Sea Grant College Program, and Purdue University Libraries http://aquanic.org/

George and Miriam Martin Foundation

The George and Miriam Martin Foundation is one of RCTB’s earliest contributors (2005).  Their focus of is river and watershed conservation. It has provides a $10,000 and $15,000  matching fund grant to ReClam The Bay and has funded over 48 other organizations since our beginning in 1995.

The Keith Campbell Foundation

The Keith Campbell Foundation providing financial support to RCTB since 2007 promotes policy, advocacy, and enforcement to improve water quality, restore ecological balance, and foster an engaged citizenry within the watersheds of the Chesapeake Bay, Atlantic Coastal Bays and the Pacific Coast region.
